L a D218 qui relie Saint-Quentin-sur-Isère - passant par Montaud et le Tunnel du Mortier - à Autrans a été construite durant l'été 1967 à l'occasion des Jeux olympiques d'hiver de 1968 qui ont eu lieu à Grenoble. Paradoxalement, elle a été ouverte le 23 avril 1968 juste après la fin des Jeux !
